Recently my Mom and I enjoyed the Classic Afternoon Tea at Steakhouse 55 inside The Disneyland Hotel. Afternoon tea is available on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-3pm. I found out about the tea party earlier this year and thought it would be a fun Mother/Daughter experience. We had a fabulous time and I am so excited to share this with you.

Some of you know that I love movies and Hollywood. Steakhouse 55 has an old Hollywood look which I love. The walls have pictures of famous faces like Cary Grant and Shirley Temple. Steakhouse 55 is an elegant restaurant which made the tea party feel even fancier.

You can chose from a classic tea party for $50 per person or a premium tea party for $65 per person. If that sounds expensive to you believe me I thought so too. However, after doing some research the prices are comparable to tea parties at other hotels. The different between the classic and premium tea party is a small salad, sparkling wine and two truffles to go. If you don’t drink they can bring you sparkling cider. My Mom and I originally planned on the classic tea party but decided to upgrade for the salad & sparkling cider.

This was a great way for my Mom and I to try out a variety of teas. There are fifteen options on the menu and they are happy to bring you whatever you would like to try. I started out with a pot of Redbush Caramel Velvet. I liked the tea and the smell was wonderful! My Mom started out with a pot of Eros. I would recommend both of those teas. I ended up being too full from everything to get a second pot of tea. My Mom also tried the Rosy Fig tea.

The salad was very tasty. It comes with a green goddess dressing. We asked our server what the dressing was like. When she told us it was an avocado dressing we were excited to try it. If you would prefer you can change the dressing.

Everything that I tried at the tea party was delicious! There were two different types of scones. The chocolate one was my favorite. The tea sandwiches were great too. We had cucumber watercress, salmon, deviled egg salad, and tomato and mozzarella. For dessert we had chocolate covered strawberries, mini fruit tarts, and macaroons. Plus, we had two chocolate truffles each to take home for later!

I am so glad that we were not rushed and could take our time. This is not the kind of thing that I would do on a regular basis so I really wanted to soak it all in.

Since the tea party takes place in such a classy setting I would encourage you to dress nicely. Both my Mother and I opted for a dress. We didn’t wear anything fancy but I still felt like I was dressed appropriately. I was happy to get a chance to use my new Betsey Johnson purse that my Mom surprised me with. The top of the purse strap is a big bow which I just love! If you want to check out the purse you can do so here.

Would I recommend the tea party? Yes I would. However, it all depends on what type of experience your looking for. The tea party takes place at The Disneyland Hotel but there are no characters. If your looking for typical Disney experience character dining might be a better option for you. They do have an option on the menu for children at $35.

Looks like y’all had such a fun time! This would be something I’d love to take my daughter to when she gets a little older. I love trying new teas, and some of the ones you mentioned sound delicious! And I have to agree that the chocolate scone would have been my favorite too :)
